3-Cyanopyridine, precipitated from the petroleum ether or ether, is needle crystal. It can sublimate, also can be soluble in alcohol, ether, chloroform, benzene and petroleum ether, slightly soluble in water. Density: 1.159 g/ ml, melting point: 50﹣51 ℃, boiling point: 48 ℃, flash point: 84 ℃.

It is used for intermediates as medicine, food additives, feed additives, insecticide etc..
